Day 33- Going Home

We said goodbye to Nat around 5 in the morning. She had a fight to Israel and then to New York to stay with her friends. Mom and I had another 6 hours before our flight was planned to leave!! We had food and chilled. We went on the plane to JFK. We got in the plane at JFK and we sat in the plane for 2 hours before it finally left! We got back to Detroit and were greeted by Sala and Bubbie!

Day 32- Last day in Crete

We first had our great breakfast at Keramos. Then we left early so we could check out Matala again. We wanted to see if any new hippies had come. We hung out at the beach there and then we drove to the Heraklion airport to go back to Athens. We got to the Athens airport and found a spot for the night. We were gonna be there for 18 hours! Nat and I left Mom and went into Athens. We took an hour bus. I showed Nat around the city. We had dinner and then we for some drinks. Then we went back to the airport.

Day 31- Crete

We drove around all today not really knowing what to do. First we stopped in a village and went down to the water to check it out. Then we drove some more. We got lost. We heard about a hippy festival happening in Matala so we decided to see it. The festival didn't start for another 2 days, but they were getting ready for it. The streets were painted with cool designs. Then we just hung out on the beach there. We drove back to Zaros and had dinner at Vivi's again.

Day 30- Crete

We left summer lodge and went to Zaros for the next 2 days. It is in central Crete. We drove about 3 hours until we reached the city. We checked into our hotel (Keramos) and then we went to drive and check out the gorge and lake nearby. We came back and went to the families farm that owned the hotel, the restaurant in town, and another store. Then we went to Vegerra (owned by Vivi). We got a huge meal with tons of dishes. We were stuffed!

Day 29- Crete

Beach day today! I can't remember the name of the beach, but we drove like 45 minutes to get to it through a lot of mountains (of course). We spent the day there and then came back. We had dinner at a ribs place.

Day 28- Crete

Today was the day for the water park. Mom drove me and Nat to the water park and then she went to the botanical gardens for the day. When she came to the park to pick us up she told the person working the desk that she was giving lunch to her daughters and ended up getting in for free. So we went on more slides when she got there. After we drove to a city where we were going to meet the horse back riding lady. We saw her and then we followed her back to the ranch. They got us all ready to ride and off we were for a 2 hour walk. After we had dinner in that same town.
